Government lending support schemes.

On 29 June the Government announced new support schemes for businesses that have been badly impacted by this year’s severe weather events in the North Island. These include a loan guarantee scheme for highly affected businesses, and a concessionary loan and equity finance scheme for viable firms unable to access lending.

The Government’s North Island Weather Event (NIWE) Loan Guarantee Scheme is designed to provide additional support to businesses that were highly impacted in the North Island weather events, primarily farmers and growers, that may take years to fully recover but remain viable in the medium to long term.

We are working with eligible customers to help them access the appropriate support. For further questions, please contact your Westpac Relationship Manager.
