Kia ora koutou katoa,
It’s been more than six months since we first started feeling the effects of COVID-19 on our shores. Despite the amazing spirit, teamwork and resilience Kiwis have shown during that time, the recent return of community transmission is a reminder that the health and financial impacts of the pandemic will be with us for some time.
For many of you, your financial outlook has already changed dramatically since we first went into lockdown in March, with a significant period of uncertainty still to come.
But, no matter your situation, we’ll continue to stand alongside you.
Please get in touch with us if you’ve been financially affected by COVID-19. We still have a range of support options for personal and business customers and we want to talk to you about how we can help. Our dedicated COVID-19 response team is available on 0800 606 606 (+64 9 375 9907 for overseas).
We’re all adapting to the “new normal” in different ways. Many of you will have found it more simple and convenient to do your banking from home, and we encourage you to register for online banking if you haven’t done so already.
Or, call us on 0800 400 600 (+64 9 912 8000 for overseas) if you would like to speak to someone directly about your banking needs.
You’re also able to visit us in person. The majority of Westpac branches are open, with most open five or six days a week.
Please take care of yourselves, and your families and friends.
Ngā mihi nui,
Westpac NZ Chief Executive
