Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is changing?

We are closing Save & Win and the associated prize draw on 5 December 2025. Your account will be transferred to a Simple Saver account on this date.

Why are you making this change?

We regularly review our products and services to ensure they meet our customers’ needs. Simplifying the range of savings accounts we offer ensures there is one account for each customers savings goal and so it is clearer which account would be best for you.

Savings accounts which offer a simple interest rate provide more consistent outcomes for customers compared to a prize draw. Customers who are regularly withdrawing from their Save & Win account will see reduced transaction fees in a Simple Saver account.

If you need to access your savings at any time, Simple Saver is our savings account which lets you withdraw funds without losing interest.  If you need an account where you can use your card to make purchases and use as a transaction account, Westpac Everyday is our account you can use to do this.

Will I still be able to use my card or digital wallet to access my new Simple Saver account?

As our Simple Saver account is designed to help grow your savings, you will no longer be able to withdraw cash from your Simple Saver, like you could from your Save & Win at an ATM or make purchases using your card or digital wallet. You will be able to use your card at an ATM to view your Simple Saver balance or transfer funds from/to your Simple Saver and any other accounts loaded on your card.

Will I still be in the monthly prize draw?

No, Westpac will no longer offer an account with a monthly prize draw.

When will the last prize draw take place?

The last prize draw will be for the month of November 2025 and paid into the winners’ accounts on the 1st of December 2025.

Will I earn interest in a Simple Saver account?

Yes, the interest rate is variable and the current rate is available here. If you would like to change your account type to a different savings account, you will need to contact us, or you can open a new account in Westpac One following the steps here

How can I find out more about your savings account options?

If you would like to find out more about our savings accounts please visit our website here or you can use our Savings & Investment Chooser tool to determine the account that best suits you and your savings goals.

Who can I talk to about these changes or my accounts?

If you would like to discuss these changes or your accounts, please phone us on 0800 400 600 between 7am to 8 pm weekdays or 8am to 5pm on weekends and public holidays. Alternatively you can visit us in branch.

Do I need to do anything to my account, and will it change in any other way?

Your account will be transferred to a Simple Saver automatically on 5 December 2025. There is no change to your account number, signing rules, and automatic payments.

Where can I see more information about my account and fees?

Your bank statement and your transaction list in Westpac One digital banking will show the total transactions and fees paid each month. Depending on your mailing preferences, your bank statement is either posted or it can be found through Westpac One digital banking. Please note electronic statements through Westpac One are free however paper statements will cost $2 from 5 December 2025. Find out how to turn paper statements off here.

I previously had a fee waiver on my account, do I keep this benefit?

Yes, fee waivers will be carried over to your new account. If you are under 19 your fee waiver will continue until you turn 19. If you are over 65 you will now receive a fee waiver.

Why is my account changing to Simple Saver?

Simple Saver and Save & Win are both simple savings accounts that don’t require funds to be locked away or the balance to increase each month.  We also have other savings options which earn higher interest, if you are able to lock your savings away, or increase the balance each month – you can find out more about these options here . If you would like to transfer your account to a different account type, get help choosing, or to close your account, please phone us on 0800 400 600 by 3 December 2025.

Things you should know.

The Westpac General Terms and Conditions which apply to your Save & Win account will continue to apply to your new account.
See the Transaction & Service Fees Brochure for the full details on account fees and additional service fees that may apply.
