How can I open a new account with Westpac?
If you already bank with us, you can open accounts and apply for KiwiSaver, a credit card or a loan in Westpac One® digital banking. If you’re not a customer yet, join through the website or call us to book a time at your nearest branch.
Westpac customers.
If you're already a Westpac customer, log in to Westpac One to open a new transaction account, saving account or PIE saving account (Notice Saver or Bonus Saver PIE), or term deposit right now in Westpac One®1
You can also join or transfer to Kiwisaver, apply for a managed fund, or credit cards, balance transfer, overdraft, personal loan or home loan.
- In the app go to More, or in online banking scroll to the bottom of the Accounts screen
- Choose Open/Apply
- Choose the kind of account you want to open or loan you want to apply for
- Follow the steps.

1 Some customers may not be able to open an account online and will need to come into a branch instead. Generally, the main reason is the need to see a photo ID of you, even if you've had an account with us for a long time.
