How can I open a new account with Westpac?

If you're already a Westpac customer you can open a new transaction account, savings account or term deposit right now through Westpac One®¹. This option is found in the right hand menu of the Accounts page , or if you are using the Westpac One app, by selecting 'Open/Apply' at the bottom of the Accounts page.

If you are new to Westpac, you will here's what you need to know about opening an account.

Things you should know. 

¹ Some customers may not be able to open an account online and will need to come into a branch instead. Generally, the main reason is the need to see a photo ID of you, even if you've had an account with us for a long time.
