To make applying for a home loan as quick as possible, it's helpful to have some specific information to hand before you start.
When you’re applying for a home loan
Whether you’re applying for a home loan online or in a branch, you’ll need to have this information to hand:
details of your annual income, including any overtime and commission.
details of your debts and expenses, such as credit cards and other loans.
if you've already made an offer, any details on the property you have in mind.
After you have applied for a home loan
After you have applied for a home loan online (or if you are going into a branch to apply), we'll need to see documentation to support you application. Examples of the supporting documents we may need to see are:
current payslips or other evidence of your annual income
copies of bank statements or related items
confirmation of your deposit
a copy of the Sale and Purchase Agreement, if applicable
a copy of a registered valuation(s) from a registered valuer

if you’re self-employed, the latest full year of your financial accounts prepared by your chartered accountant or your recent income assessment from the IRD
if you’re switching your home loan to Westpac, you’re current home loan amount and the current capital value of your home (if you know what it is).
