How it works

Simple, access your Westpac One app from your Spark mobile phone or device and you are good to go.


If you click a link in the Westpac One app that takes you to our Westpac website or another site, you’ll start using your usual data again. There will also be a small amount of data being used in the background while you are on the Westpac One app.


  • What networks are included?
    This Westpac sponsored data offer is exclusively available to Spark customers accessing the Westpac One app on the Spark network. The offer is not available for customers of any other network or third party data reseller.
  • Will I see the the data usage on my bill?
    You will only see a very small amount of data being used by the Westpac One app. 
    The Westpac One app makes use of non-Westpac website add-ons, which are not included in this sponsorship offer and your own plan or data charges will apply to those add-ons.
  • What on the Westpac One app will use my data?
    • If you click on any links that take you out of the app you will then be using your usual data.
    • There are a few add-ons working in the background which will use a small amount of your data.
    • If you use branch ATM finder, it will use your location services which will use your data
  • If I don’t have any data can I still use the Westpac One App?
    No, you still need a small amount of data to access the Westpac One app. This is because the app makes use of non-Westpac website add-ons, which are not included in this sponsored data offer and your own plan or data charges will apply to those add-ons.
  • If I am on a Spark pre-paid account I am included?
    Yes, you will be able to save data while using the Westpac One app.
  • Will my data get used if I download the Westpac One App?
    Yes, you will have to use wifi or your own data to download the Westpac One app. When wifi is available the app will connect to this first before using your data.
  • Will I save on data if I am overseas and using the Westpac One app?
    No, you will be using your own data when overseas.

  • Find an overseas Global Alliance ATM quickly with our Global ATM Finder. Get cash from any of these ATMs and pay no overseas ATM fee (as Westpac is part of the Global ATM Alliance of banks).*
  • And, of course, do more of your banking wherever you are with Westpac One.

Our apps work with most late model smartphones and iPads, but if you have an older smartphone or iPad, please check below to see if your device works with our apps.

• iPhones - iPhones 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6 and 6+ running on iOS 9 and above.
• iPads - 2+ with iOS 9 and above.
• iPod Touch with iOS 9 and above.

To check which version of iOS you’re on, please go to your Settings, tap on General, then About.

  • Version 4.4 and above.

To check which version of Android you’re on, please go to your Settings, tap on More, then on About Device.

10 October 2018 iOS update

From 10 October 2018 if you have an iPhone running iOS version 10.2 or older will need to update your iOS in order to continue using Westpac One® online banking app. After this date the app will have limited functionality. To find out what version iOS your iPhone is running click settings>general>software update. If you choose not to update your iPhone you can still use Westpac One online banking in your chosen web browser i.e. Safari. To update your iPhone please follow the instructions below:

Before you update

Make a backup of your device using iCloud or iTunes

Update your device wirelessly

  1. Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi
  2. Tap Settings > General > Software Update
  3. Tap Download and Install
  4. To update now, tap Install
  5. If asked, enter your passcode

Update your device using iTunes

  1. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer
  2. Connect your device to your computer
  3. Open iTunes and select your device
  4. Click Summary, then click Check for Update
  5. Click Download and Update
  6. If asked, enter your passcode

If you see an error message or need more space, please seek support from Apple.
