Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is changing?

We are closing Save & Win and the associated prize draw on 5 December 2025. Your account will be transferred to a Westpac Everyday account on this date.

Why are you making this change?

We regularly review our products and services to ensure they meet our customers’ needs. Simplifying the range of savings accounts we offer ensures there is one account for each customers savings goal and so it is clearer which account would be best for you.

Savings accounts which offer a simple interest rate provide more consistent outcomes for customers compared to a prize draw. Customers who are regularly withdrawing from their Save & Win account will see reduced transaction fees in a Westpac Everyday account.

If you need to access your savings at any time, Simple Saver is our savings account which lets you withdraw funds without losing interest. If you need an account you can use your card to make purchases and use as a transaction account, Westpac Everyday is our account you can use to do this.

Will I still be able to use my card or digital wallet to access my new account?

Yes. We have changed your account type to a Westpac Everyday to ensure you can keep using your card to access your account.

Will I still be in the monthly prize draw?

No, Westpac will no longer offer an account with a monthly prize draw.

When will the last prize draw take place?

The last prize draw will be for the month of November 2025 and paid into the winners’ accounts on the 1st of December 2025.

Will I earn interest in the Westpac Everyday account?

No, you don’t earn interest in Westpac Everyday.  If you want to change your account to a savings account instead of a Westpac Everyday account, please contact us, or you can open a new savings account in Westpac One following the steps here. Your Save & Win account will earn interest until 4 December 2025 and will no longer earn interest from 5 December 2025 after your account transfers to a Westpac Everyday.

How can I find out more about your savings account options?

Please use our Savings & Investment Chooser tool to determine the account that best suits you and your savings goals.

Who can I talk to about these changes or my accounts?

If you would like to discuss these changes or your accounts, please phone us on 0800 400 600 or visit a branch.

Do I need to do anything to my account, and will it change in any other way?

Your account will be transferred to a Westpac Everyday automatically on 5 December 2025. There is no change to your account number, account access, signing rules, and automatic payments.

Where can I see more information about my account and fees?

Your bank statement and your transaction list in Westpac One digital banking will show the total transactions and fees paid each month. Please note electronic statements through Westpac One are free however paper statements will cost $2 from 5 December 2025. Find out how to turn paper statements off here.

I previously had a fee waiver on my account, do I keep this benefit?

Yes, fee waivers will be carried over to your new account. If you are under 19 your fee waiver will continue until you turn 19. If you are over 65 you will now receive a fee waiver.

Why is my account changing to Westpac Everyday?

If you are regularly using your card or digital wallet to access your Save & Win we will automatically transfer your account to a Westpac Everyday as outlined in your communication. This is so you can continue to use your card to access your funds. As Westpac Everyday does not earn interest you may wish to open a savings account if you don’t have one already.
