Our history.

Westpac has been part of the Aotearoa New Zealand community since 1861. What began as Australia’s first and oldest banking institution, today is a bank firmly entrenched in the lives and landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Beginning with our first customers in the Otago goldfields, we’ve been helping New Zealanders succeed for over 160 years. And as our nation grew, so too did we.

Today we aim to support our customers to become financially secure. Through sustainable business practices, we invest in and care for the places we live so that our people and communities thrive and succeed.

Now more than 1.5 million New Zealanders bank with us, and as a large business we touch the lives of 5,000 employees and countless communities nationwide.

As we receive a large amount of job applications per role, when we are reviewing each application, we look at the supporting documents attached, such as your CV and cover letter.
