What's covered

 

Your cover includes Up to
Accidental damage to your home, including damage by fire, water, natural disaster or burglary. your sum insured
Westpac home loan repayments in the event of total loss of your home $1,500 a month for 3 months
Temporary accommodation for you and your dogs and cats if you live in your home and it’s damaged and unable to be lived in 12 months (max $25,000)
Liability for damage to someone else’s property because of an accident at your place $2 million
New locks, keys or remote doors openers if they’re lost or stolen (and you live in your home) $2,000 with no excess 
Landscaping costs to restore damage to your garden after your home is damaged $3,000
Hidden gradual damage to the home by leaks from internal pipes, while you own it $3,000
Damage caused by your pets $1,000
Security after loss (with no excess) to help you secure your home against further loss  $2,000
Fatal injury benefit - A payment to your estate if you or your spouse die from a fire or burglary at home $5,000 each ($10,000 total)
Post-event inflation protection for natural disaster, flood or storm 10% of sum insured                                                              
Selling your home – If your home is damaged before settlement, the purchaser could also be covered for any loss of deposit, The amount of the deposit
Stress payment if you lose your home completely $1,000
