  • Building and chattels. Purpose-built cover for rental properties that covers your building, whiteware and window coverings, so you don’t need to take out a separate contents policy for appliances or curtains you provide your tenants.
  • Loss of rent. If your tenanted rental becomes unliveable after an insured event, we can help cover lost rent while repairs are completed (up to 8 months’ rent).
  • Tenant damage. Covers deliberate damage caused by tenants or their guests up to $20,000 for each event.
  • Meth contamination cover. Includes up to $30,000 cover for meth contamination damage and cleanup so you can get it rented out again.

      Landlord's Plus Cover

    Extended sum insured for fire
    If your house is destroyed by fire, this benefit gives you up to 20% more cover than your sum insured. Excludes fires following natural hazards.

    Deliberate damage
    We’ll pay for deliberate damage caused by your tenants or their guests during the period of insurance to your house.

    Up to $20,000

    Loss of rent
    Up to eight months rent covered if your house is made uninhabitable by loss or damage covered under the policy while tenanted.

    Damage caused by a natural hazard
    If damage to your home exceeds the NHCover limit, we pay the difference up to your sum insured.

    Liability protection

    Up to $20m

    Hidden gradual water damage
    We'll repair damage to your home which is caused over time by a leak or overflow from an internal water pipe, hose, or tank.

    Up to $2,000

    Landlord's whiteware and window covering
    We'll cover up to $20,000 for your rental property's whiteware and window coverings. It means you won't need to take out a separate contents policy for any appliances or curtains you provide your tenants.

    Sustainability upgrade
    If your house is destroyed, we'll provide up to $15,000 for you to add or upgrade to sustainable products in your new house. Excludes losses caused by a natural hazard.
