For damage to your home that needs immediate attention: Problems at home such as leaking water, may need to be attended to immediately to prevent further damage. Keep a record of repairs made and any receipts for costs incurred.

For a vehicle accident: Call the Police if the accident is serious or there is a dispute. You may need to get your vehicle towed to a safe place, but don’t authorise repairs to your damaged vehicle until your claim has been processed.
