BLAKE NZ-VR Climate Change School Competition terms and conditions:

  1. The competition relates to the BLAKE NZ‑VR climate change lesson, which is designed for intermediate‑aged students (generally Years 7–8).
  2. Entry period: Tuesday 31st March 2026  to 31st May 2026 at 11:59am
  3. To enter: Fill out the form provided with name, email address, name of school nominated, region of school and the relationship you have to the school e.g. parent, grandparent, teacher or student, and click submit.
  4. There are 15 prizes of one BLAKE NZ-VR climate change lesson which will be delivered by our partner BLAKE, at a date and time that works for both BLAKE and the winning school.
  5. Lesson bookings: Successful schools will be contacted to arrange their NZVR Climate Change lesson. All lessons will be booked during 2026, subject to availability.
  6. Prize delivery is subject to the winning school’s agreement and availability. If a school is unable or unwilling to participate, Westpac reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.
  7. Prize draw: 3 June 2026. 15 winner(s) will be drawn.
  8. One entry per person. Incomplete entries will be rejected. Entries accepted upon receipt and not dispatch.
  9. Winner(s) will be notified by e-mail on or about 8 June 2026. If winner is not reasonably able to be contacted within 3 days of the prize draw, the prize shall be forfeited and another winner will be drawn.
  10. By entering, you consent to Westpac publishing your name, should you win on the Westpac website at westpac.co.nz; the Westpac NZ Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages and in any other forum that Westpac considers appropriate. 
  11. Employees (and their immediate family members) of Westpac, BLAKE, Publicis Group and of its related entities, are not eligible to enter or win.
  12. The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Westpac may substitute the prize or any portion of the prize with an alternative prize of equivalent value without notice. 
  13. If Westpac cannot run the prize draw as planned, Westpac may extend the entry period or postpone or cancel the prize draw. If so, a notice will be posted at westpac.co.nz/blakenzvr
  14. Westpac may disqualify an entrant for (a) tampering with the entry process; (b) submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions; or (c) engaging in any conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion.
  15. Personal information collected as part of this promotion will be held by Westpac in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Information will be used for the purpose of administering the promotion and may be shared with BLAKE for prize fulfilment.
  16. All decisions made by Westpac are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. You are fully responsible for any tax implications arising from accepting the prize. 
  18. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Westpac (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability, for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss, damage or injury (including loss of opportunity and any personal injury, whether physical or mental) arising in any way out of the prize draw or acceptance or use of any prize.
  19. To the extent permitted by law, neither Westpac nor its agents will be responsible for the quality of any prize once issued. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify a consumer's rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other statutory rights that the winner may have in relation to the prize. 
  20. The Promoter is Westpac New Zealand Limited (“Westpac”). 

Privacy statement – Westpac x BLAKE School VR Climate Change Competition

When you enter this competition, Westpac New Zealand Limited (Westpac) collects some personal information about you. We want to be upfront about what we collect, why we collect it, and how it’s used.

When you enter, we ask for:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • The region you live in
  • Nominated school name
  • Your relationship to the nominated school (e.g. parent, teacher, student).

Providing this information is optional. However, if you don’t provide it, we won’t be able to accept your entry or contact you if you win.

We use this information to:

  • Manage and administer competition entries
  • Check that nominations meet the eligibility criteria
  • Contact the successful nominator and/or nominated school
  • Work with our partner, Sir Peter Blake Charity Limited (BLAKE), to arrange delivery of the NZ VR Climate Change session prize.

We only collect information that is needed to run the competition and deliver the prize.

Within Westpac, access is limited to teams involved in running the competition and selecting the winners.

If your entry is successful, we will share the following information with our competition partner, Sir Peter Blake Charity Limited, so they can coordinate delivery of the VR Climate Change session with the nominated school.

Will any information be made public?

If you win, names, nominated school names, and/or regions may be shared publicly (for example on websites or social media) to announce the winners or promote the programme.

How long do we keep your information?

We only keep your information for as long as needed to run the competition and deliver the prize, after which it is securely deleted.

How can you access or correct your information?

You can ask to access or correct the information you’ve provided at any time by contacting: sponsorships@westpac.co.nz
