Agri Business

We are here to help Agribusiness customers and you prosper and grow. New Zealand's agricultural industry is the backbone of this country and its technology and innovation advances make it world class. Consumer Bank & Wealth

Do you have a passion for customer service? During the program, you will embark on a series of rotations across our Retail Business functions including time in our branch network; lending, business strategy & operations support areas. The Consumer Bank Graduate program will give you a deep experience of working within our Retail teams. You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to fast track your career in the financial industry. You will work with teams to improve and develop strategies to help achieve our Service Promise. We will invest in your development by providing you with technical and soft skills training allowing you to gain hands on experience in each of your rotations. All rotations are designed to build broad knowledge and skills and form professional networks to fast track your success as a Banker of the future!

Who should apply:  If you have a drive to exercise your passion for customer relationships within financial services and thrive within a team environment, the Consumer Bank Grad Program is the one for you.

Where you will work: Anywhere in New Zealand. 

Future career opportunities: As a Consumer Bank Graduate within Westpac, you will gain experience across a diverse range of areas. This program provides you with an awesome opportunity to get up close and personal with the heart and soul of Consumer Banking customers. You’ll have an opportunity to fast track your career in the Industry and gain exposure to the behind-the-scenes business functions that support our Branch teams. Our Consumer Bank program is designed to provide development and a career path to being a Retail Banker – for both graduates and current employees who are passionate about building a career in banking. Where are they now? here are some examples of roles former Consumer Graduates are now performing in our business are: Business Analyst; Marketing Specialist; Business Development Manager; Product Manager; Personal Manager; Branch Manager; Business Banker.

Risk

What is Risk? Effective risk management sets Westpac New Zealand apart from our competitors and gives us the edge we need to be one of the world's great companies. It is about striking the right balance between protecting and optimising our business. Risk professionals protect the bank against unexpected loss, develop control frameworks and manage regulatory, compliance and other risks .A lot of people think risk is all about numbers, that's an important part of it, but it's not the only piece. We support a strong and risk aware organisation through expert advice, constructive challenges and innovative solutions. We develop relationships, build trust and help solve problems. As a member of the Risk Business your analytical skills will support you to understand the frameworks, strategies, tools and culture required to meet our Risk regulatory, legislative and business obligations. Risk is everybody’s business.

Who should apply: You will have a Quantitative aptitude, ability to problem solve and leadership potential.
Degrees: Mathematics and Statistics, Actuarial Studies, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Finance, and/or Business

Future career opportunities: As a Risk Graduate your Risk career will be supported by those who have worked with you and your area of interest. This could include: Financial Crime and Assurance; Credit Risk; Operational Risk. That said, at Westpac your career opportunities are endless.
