Graduates from a wide range of disciplines can succeed in our customer facing roles; Bachelors  in Finance, Business or Accounting will help but your passion for serving our customers and building relationships is the real plus for these roles.

What you can expect

You will work alongside our corporate banking teams in areas such as Relationship Management where you will build thorough knowledge of Westpac’s banking products and services as well as industry expertise.

You will assist with the analysis of financial information and preparation of customers credit submissions whilst supporting Relationship Managers in identifying new customer and business opportunities. There is lots of room to grow your career across our corporate banking team.

Our customer facing roles work with our institutional banking and corporate & structured finance clients. You’ll work alongside our institutional / corporate & structured finance teams in areas such as relationship management where you’ll build thorough knowledge of Westpac’s banking products and services as well as industry expertise. You’ll assist with the analysis of financial information and preparation of customers credit submissions. Working with the corporate & structured finance team you’ll learn how they develop tailored funding solutions for our Institutional, Corporate and Agribusiness customers. There’s lots of room to grow your career across our institutional banking / corporate & structured finance teams.

Institutional & Business Banking – COO and Risk, Compliance & Conduct.

What you can expect

The Chief Operating Office is focused on improving the capabilities of everyone in IBB, as well as optimising the way we work. Whilst the Risk, Compliance & Conduct team are focused on strengthening risk management and maturing risk culture in IBB, as we continue building a strong, safe, resilient business that our customers and communities can put their trust in.

In this programme you can expect to rotate your time between the COO and Risk, Compliance & Conduct teams to help you learn more about the various workstreams within IBB. These two teams are packed full of different roles, expertise and project experiences to enhance your overall learning and understanding of a strong risk culture and operating rhythm.

Who do we want?

Graduates from a wide range of disciplines can succeed in our customer facing roles; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related disciplines will help but your passion for Risk and Strategy related outcomes is the real plus for these roles.

Financial Markets.

What you can expect

Our Graduate programme will give you an experience like no other working within our dynamic Financial Markets team. Working with our Financial Market team you’ll get exposure to helping our customers with execution and risk management across a variety of foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity products. Our Financial Markets team has extensive experience and knowledge in both local and offshore markets, and work with clients ranging from consumer and small business customers through to large corporates and major institutional investors. They are a truly global team spread across New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, and America. You can expect a number of rotations across the various business units that make up Financial Markets. This could include Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Sales, Trading, Economics, Strategy and Debt Capital Markets.
