All payments (except Automatic Payments) to other Westpac accounts

  • Online payments made up to 10:00pm on business days will occur immediately
  • Online payments made from 10:01pm are processed immediately and post-dated to the next business day
  • Note: If a direct debit payment is due to be taken out and there is not enough money in the account to pay for it, a transfer made into it before 10:00pm will help to avoid your account becoming overdrawn.

Online Banking transactions for overnight processing

  • Online payments made up to 10:00pm on business days will be sent to other banks hourly between 9:30am and 10pm
  • Online payments made after 10pm will be sent to other banks at 9:30am on the next business day
  • New Automatic Payments can be set up as late as midnight on the day before the first payment date
  • Automatic payments can be amended or cancelled before 7am on the date of payment
  • Planned payments and transfers can be amended or cancelled before 7:00am on the date of payment.

Online Banking transactions completed

  • Before 10pm on a business day are sent to other banks that day
  • After 10pm are sent to other banks at 9:30am the next business day.

A payment made at 10:10pm on a Tuesday

  • Will show in the receiving account on Wednesday morning, provided the other bank processes payments during the day. Otherwise the payment will be received on Thursday. This assumes Wednesday and Thursday are not public holidays.

A payment made at 10:10pm on a Friday

  • Will show in the receiving account on the following Monday morning, provided the other bank processes payments during the day. Otherwise the payment will be received on Tuesday. This assumes Monday and Tuesday are not public holidays.
