How do I set up Apple Pay?

It's free to set up Apple Pay on an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or a Mac. Here's how.

On an iPhone in the Westpac One® app:

  1. Go to Cards in the bottom menu, then choose the card you want to use for Apple Pay
  2. Go to the Add to Apple Wallet button
  3. Choose Next, then read and, if you agree, agree to the terms & conditions.
    For security reasons, we may text you a verification code
  4. Go to Next, then we'll confirm that your card has been added to your Apple Wallet. 

On an iPad.

  • Go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay
  • Choose Add Credit or Debit Card
  • Follow the steps. If you're asked to add the card that you use with iTunes, cards on other devices, or cards that you've recently removed, choose them, then enter the card security codes
  • Go to Next. You may be asked to verify your card. The code will go to the mobile phone number you registered with Westpac
  • Once we've verified your card, go back to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay, choose your card, then go to Next

On a Mac:

On Apple Watch:

  1. Set up and open the Watch app on your iPhone
  2. Go to Wallet & Apple Pay, then choose Add Credit or Debit Card and follow the steps.

Things you should know.

You can add:

  • The same debit or credit Mastercard® to all your devices (including Google Pay if you have an Android device), and 
  • A new debit or credit Mastercard to Apple Pay on each device every 24 hours.  

Apple Pay will not work for EFTPOS cards.

Check which phones or tablets you can use at Apple Support.

The phone you use to get the confirmation text to set up Apple Pay does not need to be an iPhone.

Apple Pay is available to all eligible Westpac debit and credit Mastercard® customers. Excludes Mastercard BusinessCard®, Westpac Business Prepaid Mastercard® and Global Currency cards. Customers also need a compatible Apple Device.
