How do I make a payment in Westpac One?
When you pay someone in Westpac One® digital banking, we check names match account numbers – to give you greater confidence you’re paying the right person with the Confirmation of Payee service.
In the app:
- Select Pay & Transfer from the bottom menu
- Select Pay
- Select From then choose which account to pay from
- Select To then choose who you want to pay
- Select Payees then choose from your saved list if you’ve paid them before.
If you’re paying someone new, select New or overseas to enter their account details.
- Select Pay to a New payee on the New or overseas screen
- Enter their name and account details
- Select Check details to check that the name of the person you’re paying matches their account number with the Confirmation of Payee service
- Select Done
- Select Details and enter any reference details you want to appear on your account or the payee’s account. Then select Done
- Enter the amount you want to pay
- Select Continue
- Check your payment details and then select Confirm.
If you need to show you’ve paid:
- For a single payment, like a TradeMe purchase, select the Share symbol from the top right
- For automatic, multiple or recurring payments and for past payments, go to Timeline from the bottom menu, select the transaction, then take a screenshot from your phone

In online banking:
- Select Pay & transfer

- Enter the amount you want to pay
- Select Continue
- Check your payment details and then select Confirm.
