Credit card payment options

You can choose to pay off your credit card in full each month or just make the minimum monthly payment. The minimum payment is either billed at $5 or 2% of your closing balance, whichever is greater of the two*.

Westpac One online banking

  • Transfer payment directly to your credit card account from your other Westpac NZ accounts. If you haven't registered for Westpac One, give us a call on 0800 400 600. 

Direct Debit

  • You can arrange a direct debit from your bank account to pay the minimum monthly payment, a fixed amount each month or the full closing balance on your monthly statement.  Simply complete a direct debit form or talk to your local Westpac NZ branch.  If you want to vary your direct debit payment, you’ll need to contact us 48 hours prior to your direct debit payment due date. 

24 hour Phone Banking

  • Transfer payment directly to your credit card account from your other Westpac NZ accounts using 24/7 Phone Banking on 0800 172 172. Click here to find out how.


  • You can do a funds transfer or make a deposit from your other Westpac bank accounts to your credit card account at any Westpac ATM.

Bill payment and automatic payment

  • Payments can be made from any New Zealand bank account. 
  • With an automatic payment you can set a specific amount to be paid at regular intervals, for example: weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Bill payments are great for making one off payments of varying amount. 

To set up an automatic payment or a bill payment, you'll need the below information:


  • Our transfer account name: Westpac Mastercard Payments or Westpac Visa Payments
  • Your Card Payments account number: 03 0990 0998907 82
  • The 16 digit credit card number
  • The cardholder's surname and initials

Details to appear on payees bank statement:

Particulars: First eight digits of the card number i.e. 5436 7800
Code:            Last eight digits of the card number i.e. 1234 5678
Reference: Cardholders surname and initials i.e. Bloggs J O


  • Paying in person – your payment can be made over the counter at any Westpac branch in New Zealand.

By cheque

You can pay using a cheque by visiting a Westpac branch or smart ATM.
