Westpac NZ is replacing all debit and credit cards that were potentially caught up in the recent international Ticketmaster-related data security incident.

Ticketmaster has said that their international customers who bought, or tried to buy, tickets between September 2017 and June 23, 2018 may be affected by the incident. Impacted customers should have been notified by Ticketmaster.

“We have been aware that the Ticketmaster-related data security incident could potentially affect our customers and we’ve been monitoring all activity closely since. We have strong fraud controls in place, but we wanted to take an extra proactive step to protect our customers and provide them with peace of mind around this issue. We are doing this at no charge to our customers.” said Tiffany Ryan, Westpac NZ’s Head of Financial Crime and Security Services.

Replacement cards have been sent out to customers and we encourage those customers to activate their new cards and destroy the old ones.

At Westpac NZ we have enhanced controls for detecting and protecting against fraudulent activity and we also encourage our customers to get in touch with us if they suspect any unauthorised activity on their cards.
