Simon has been General Manager Institutional Banking at Westpac NZ since January 2020, and is also the General Manager of our Corporate and Commercial banking divisions. Before taking on this role, he was Westpac NZ’s GM Consumer Banking & Wealth.
Prior to joining Westpac in 2012, Simon spent 12 years as a Member of Parliament in New Zealand, including serving as Minister of Justice, Minister of Commerce and Minister of State Owned Enterprises between 2008-2011. During this time he led significant reform and change in financial market oversight and regulation.
Simon is a chartered member of the NZ Institute of Directors, and a member of the NZ Institute of Management. Between 2012-2015 he sat on the Board of the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
Simon holds degrees in Law and Politics from Wellington’s Victoria University.
Chris is Head of Financial Markets for New Zealand at Westpac, responsible for trading, research, distribution and origination activities across all products.
Chris joined Westpac in 2012 and was responsible for leading the Foreign Exchange and Commodities business, then became the Head of Distribution, before moving into the Head of Financial Markets role in 2019.
Chris brings with him a wealth of experience with over 20 years’ experience across Global markets both locally and internationally. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Chris spent 12 years in London in various senior roles at Citigroup and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), his last role in London was Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales.
Chris holds a BCOM, double major in Finance and Economics from Auckland University.

Andrew heads up the Corporate Finance team at Westpac Institutional Bank.
He joined Westpac Corporate Finance in 2003, returning to New Zealand from London where he worked for the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse First Boston.
Prior to that Andrew worked for Southpac Corporation Limited and then Ord Minnett Securities-NZ-Limited, leading New Zealand based corporate finance houses. Before the move to banking, Andrew was a commercial and banking solicitor for Bell Gully.
With 18 years of investment banking experience and two years as a banking & commercial solicitor, Andrew has extensive expertise in investment banking and corporate finance, across a range of industries and markets.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and a Bachelor of Laws, from the University of Canterbury, and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1992. Andrew is a Certified Finance & Investment Professional, Member of INFINZ.

Rod spent a number of years working as a lawyer with Russell McVeagh in Auckland and Wellington, and with Linklaters in London, specialising in international financing transactions.
In 1999 he joined Barclays Capital in London and worked as a Director in the structured finance area before being recruited by Westpac Institutional Bank in December 2002 to head the securitisation and structured securities team, based in Auckland.
Rod was appointed Head of Debt Capital Markets, Westpac Institutional Bank, in October 2005. He oversees the loan markets, securitisation and asset finance product teams.
Rod holds honours degrees in law and economics from the University of Otago.
