Westpac screened pawprints on its sign to support the SPCA

Westpac employees are always keen to support good causes and if a customer is involved, even better.

Employees throughout the country recently took part in a fundraising drive for the SPCA, who joined Westpac as a customer earlier this year.

Branches and offices across our network set up stalls to sell everything from cakes to cookies, preserves and even pupcakes for visiting furry friends.

Some employees also used their volunteer leave to support the cause, spending time making toys and treats for animals in SPCA shelters as well as running the bake sales.

All Westpac employees receive two volunteer days each year to use supporting causes of their choice in their communities.

Westpac NZ Managing Director of Institutional and Business Banking, Reuben Tucker, says the bank is delighted to have become the SPCA’s banking partner.

“Our organisations share values, we support their mission, and we look forward to providing great service to them and their supporters so they can continue their invaluable work,” he says.

Each year, the SPCA helps to protect more than 55,000 animals who are sick, injured, abused or vulnerable. So far the Westpac fundraising drive has raised more than $14,000 for the cause and Westpac will additionally contribute around $5,000 through matching employee donations.
