Westpac One Business payment file upload reference guide.
If you use accounting, payroll, or practice management software, you can upload payment or direct debit files directly into Westpac One® Business. This page explains the file formats you can use, how they work, what your file needs to include, and how to fix common issues.
About payment files
A payment file is a file created by your software that contains a list of payments or direct debits. The format available to you depends on the accounting, payroll, ERP, treasury, or practice management software you use.
Instead of entering each payment manually, you will:
- Export the file from your software system
- Upload it to Westpac One Business
- Review and approve the uploaded transactions.
For instructions about uploading files, visit How do I upload a payment file in Westpac One Business.
To learn about payment file statuses, visit Payment file statuses.
Future-dated payments using file upload
You can upload files that contain future-dated transactions by setting the transaction date to the header row. If you don't have a header row, the transactions will be processed on the same day the file is uploaded.
Uploading files with direct debits.
Files can't contain a mix of direct debits and direct credits. If you want to upload a file containing direct debits you'll need to create a separate file with those transactions. Files containing direct debits are formatted differently than other payment types. See the direct debits section under each payment type to learn how to format these files.
