If you already have a Westpac credit card and would like to transfer a balance from elsewhere on to your Westpac credit card, then please download and complete this Credit Card Balance Transfer Form.

Balance Transfers - Things you need to know**

  • The special rate of 0% p.a. for 12 months applies to successful balance transfer applications to any Westpac credit card.
  • All balance transfers are subject to Westpac's approval and Westpac has the right to refuse any transfer application.
  • The reduced interest rate of 0% p.a. will apply for 12 months from the date the balance(s) is transferred to your Westpac credit card. At the end of the 12 month period any outstanding transferred balance will attract the applicable standard purchase interest rate as stated on our website
  • The "Everyday" rate of 5.95% p.a. is current as of 1 November 2014 and is subject to change without notice.
  • The Everyday rate of 5.95% p.a. will apply to balance(s) transferred to your Westpac credit card until that transferred balance(s) is paid off.
  • You will need a Westpac credit card for a balance transfer.
  • A Credit Card Balance Transfer Form will need to be completed and returned to Westpac.
  • Westpac’s current credit card lending criteria apply to all applications and transfers.

  • Your Westpac credit card must remain within its limit.
  • You can apply to transfer balances from other bank’s credit cards or personal loans, hire purchases and store cards.
  • You cannot transfer a balance from a Westpac card or loan.
  • You will need to keep making payments to all accounts from which your balance is being transferred until the balance transfer is complete and you have confirmation from Westpac that the accounts have been credited.
  • You are responsible for all late payment charges and any other payments on your accounts, including any costs to close those other accounts.
  • Payments made to your Westpac credit card will be applied against balance transfers before all cash advances and other purchases, but after all charges and interest that has been accrued.

*This calculator is a guide only and indicates possible approximate savings over the periods specified, applying a monthly payment amount of 3% of the total debt or $10, whichever is greater. Please note the current monthly Westpac credit card minimum payment requirement is 2% of the total debt or $5, whichever is greater. The calculations are made assuming (a) the balance transfer is made on the first day of the first month and subsequent payments are made on the last day of each following month and (b) no other transactions are made during the period specified. Interest accrues on the daily balance. Interest charge calculation methodology and rounding may differ slightly from actual credit card account calculations.
