A trio of sustainability awards

'Shed 10' on Auckland’s waterfront was the location for the National Sustainable Business Network (SBN) Awards ceremony held last month. And we’re proud to have won not one, but three awards on the night!

The Awards recognise organisations that lead the way in sustainability.

What we’re doing

Whether it’s reducing carbon emissions, ensuring our suppliers meet our ethical and environmental standards or supporting the Sir Peter Blake and Halberg Trusts, it’s fair to say all of us at Westpac are working towards a more sustainable New Zealand.

And we couldn’t do it without the support of our local communities around the country! Whether you’re helping us to care for our coastline on our beach clean ups or supporting the annual Chopper Appeal, you’re all playing your part in our sustainability efforts.

A trio of awards

We beat out stiff competition to be named Sustainable Business of the Year and the Trailblazer Large and Corporate Business by the judging panel.

And it seems like you agree with the judges as we also picked up the People’s Choice award, voted by the public.

On the night our Team showed real commitment to the cause – deciding to arrive in style by riding to the awards ceremony!

Westpac’s Head of Brand & Community, Suzie Marsden, was delighted with the win saying: “These Awards mark a fantastic one-team effort. I’d like to acknowledge the work across the whole bank. This collaboration has been instrumental to all of our achievements.”
