Rhythmic drumming, bubbles, and rainbow face paint helped create a festive atmosphere down Ponsonby Road over the weekend as nearly 200 Westpac staff family and friends marched in the 2018 Auckland Pride Parade.
Celebrations started mid-afternoon at Westpac’s Ponsonby branch with music and refreshments.
During the pre-parade festivities, Westpac was awarded the Rainbow Tick for the fourth year running by Rainbow Tick founder Michael Stevens.
Marked against criteria based on international best practice, the tick acknowledges the bank’s commitment to continue building a strong culture of diversity and inclusiveness.
Westpac partnered again with Brazilian percussion band, AkSamba, who beat drums and played other international instruments as the lead the Westpac procession.
