Westpac Business Growth Grants finalists announced

The Westpac Business Growth Grants are part of our push to help upcoming Kiwi businesses reach their potential, no matter location, industry, or even if a Westpac customer.

This is the fourth year the Growth Grants has been run, with Kiwi SMEs keen to grow telling us what their growth vision is, and a panel of judges select six finalists and one overall winner, who will be announced on 26 July.

The winner will receive a Growth Grant valued at $50,000, including $40,000 cash and $10,000 worth of advertising, plus each of the six finalists also receive:

  •   flights and accommodation to attend the Nurture Change Business Retreat in Hawaii, to take time out to focus on working on their business with a range of experts and business leaders

  •   expert business mentoring including legal, HR and accounting advice

  •   a $2,500 Quest business accommodation package voucher


And the finalists are…

For the first time, this year’s Growth Grants finalists have been selected from six regions around the country. Here they are and the region they represent:


Earth Stability – Auckland/NorthlandEarthStability

Six times industry award winner, Earth Stability is a civil engineering contractor, specialising in ground reinforcement works, particularly restricted and rope access slip repairs.

Their teams comprise highly skilled, committed specialists holding more than 60 cumulative years’ industry experience, and have quickly established a reputation as leading specialists and true innovators in their field.



Jumpflex – Waikato/Bay of PlentyJumpflex

Brothers Matt and Stephen Tubbs’ love for functionality and minimal design inspired them to design the signature high-quality Jumpflex trampoline.

Since launching in 2009 with one model in their parents’ garage, the brothers have refined their design and grown the business, without ever losing that personal touch, and the popularity of the trampolines have really taken off.



Origin Earth – Central North IslandOriginEarth

Origin Earth is a Hawke's Bay based owner operated boutique dairy company, with products all crafted from single farm origin milk, which means that the milk for any one batch of milk, yoghurt or cheese comes from a single farm and herd or flock.

Origin Earth also have a Cheese Shop and Café that offers locals and visitors a true Hawke’s Bay experience by showcasing their products. 



Taska Prosthetics – Lower North IslandTaska

For 3 years, scientist, engineer and inventor Mathew Jury burned the midnight oil developing what would become Taska, the best myoelectric hand available.

This advanced, robust and waterproof prosthetic hand frees wearers up to do more of the big little things like peeling a potato, clicking a computer mouse, doing the laundry, washing the car, mowing the lawns, or firmly holding a knife to cut a thick juicy steak.

PURE Sports Nutrition – Canterbury, Tasman and West CoastPure

PURE Sports Nutrition was designed with sports science in mind, providing high-quality products before, during, and after workouts.  

Developed by brother and sister Simon & Marewa Kraak in 2012 after failing to find natural sports nutrition products, they provide high quality, natural products that work, containing no artificial ingredients or colours.



Yello! Wanaka Transport Group – Otago/SouthlandYello

Owned and operated by Ramash and Jo Swamy, Yello! is a family business that provides Wanaka, Queenstown and the surrounding area with a great transport service.

With over 30 years’ experience, not only do they provide a taxi service, but also transport up to the ski fields in winter, weddings, events, tours, and charters.
