How do we create a better tomorrow?

Westpac is committed to sustainably growing our business to help our customers, communities and people prosper and grow. This means creating a better tomorrow by improving the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Today we’ve launched our 2016 Westpac Sustainability review which highlights how we’re doing just that. There’s a lot to be proud of and we couldn’t have done it without the passion and commitment of our people, customers and partners. Highlights include:

  •    Maintained carbon neutrality and reduced our emissions by 12%

  •    Increased lending to the CleanTech services sector to $1.29 billion

  •    Increased women in leadership to 50.5%

  •    Mana-ā-riki pilot programme enrolled 940 children in health clinics, purchase 690 chromebooks and treated 509 cases of Group A streptococcus (precursor for rheumatic fever)

  •    Launched first-in-market app ‘CashNav’ that enables all our customers to track, categorise and benchmark their spending

  •    Delivered Managing Your Money workshops to 3,575 people

  •    Fundraised $1.3 million for NZ’s Rescue Helicopters

  •    Westpac Group ranked world’s most sustainable bank in the 2016 Dow Jones Sustainability Index
