How much can I borrow?

This is the million-dollar question (almost literally in some places in New Zealand!). You’ve been saving hard for a deposit, so now it’s time to figure out how much you can borrow and what kind of place you could buy.

Crunch the numbers

How much you can borrow depends on factors like:

  • How much deposit you have to contribute
  • How much you can afford to repay towards your mortgage
  • The value of the home you might want to buy
