Does Westpac accept cheques from overseas?

All of our branches in Auckland are closed this weekend. Normal hours will resume on Monday 8th March with Level 2 social distancing measures in place in Auckland. Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding during the past week.

Westpac accepts foreign cheques on a case-by-case basis.

However:

Some overseas cheques can take 6 weeks or longer to clear
If we are able to bank the cheque straight away, a charge of $5 shall apply. If the cheque is sent to your bank for collection, a charge of $50 shall apply
A telegraphic transfer or draft may be a better way of transferring funds
