No, your Visa card will stop working approximately 70 days from the date the Mastercard® is sent to you. If the Mastercard® isn’t right for you or your financial situation has or is about to change give us a call on 0800 557 600 and we can talk through your options.
No, you’ll get just one statement, which will include any purchases you may have made with both the Visa and Mastercard®. Once the Visa card is closed your statement will show only your Mastercard® transactions.
Yes, you will need to switch these payments to your new card before your Visa stops working.
When your Mastercard® arrives you’ll need to provide the card details to anyone you make regular payments to like insurance, power provider, gym membership.
Yes, you don’t need to do anything, it will be transferred to the Mastercard®. However, should you wish to discuss options or cancel it, call 0800 557 600.
Yes, if you have met the eligibility conditions and still hold a Westpac credit card with the overseas travel insurance benefit. You can check the eligibility conditions online or by calling AIG on 0800 465 322.
Yes, if you have met the eligibility conditions these insurances will continue for the period remaining.
Yes, although you will need to activate your Mastercard® card before the additional cardholder can use their card. If you don’t any purchases they try to make will be declined.

Your account will be closed and any balance that you may have at the time of closure will need to be paid in full. We’ll send you a final statement with the balance and date to pay by. If you have any Card Repayment Cover, this will be cancelled when your account is closed.
Yes, this will be transferred to the Mastercard®. Remember, if you have a balance transfer any repayments made to your Westpac credit card will be applied to interest and charges accrued first, then cash advances and purchases, followed by balance transfers.
Your hotpoints balance will be automatically transferred to the hotpoints Mastercard®. If you decide to close your account or apply for an alternative Westpac credit card that doesn’t earn hotpoints you will have 10 business days from the closure of your account to redeem any hotpoints you may have.
You’ll get 2 hotpoints for every $1 spent on the card. We’ll be applying the hotpoints Platinum earn rate to purchases made from the date your card is transferred to a Mastercard®, even if they’re made on the Visa card.
Mastercard® is accepted worldwide – in store and online.
You’ll be able to differentiate the cards by the last four digits of the card number. Your credit card statement will also include this information.
No, your current PIN will be transferred to the Mastercard®.
