Make your bookkeeping easier.

Connecting your Westpac accounts to accounting software helps you save time and reduce manual data entry. Bank feeds automatically import transactions, so you always have up-to-date financial records.

How it works.

  • Your bank transactions are securely sent to your accounting software daily.
  • Transactions appear in your software by 4:30 am (NZST).
  • You can match transactions easily for accurate record-keeping.

What accounting software can I use?

You can link your business accounts to:

  • Xero
  • MYOB
  • Cash Manager.

Eligible account types

You can connect the following Westpac NZ accounts to direct bank feeds:

  • Everyday (day-to-day) accounts
  • Term deposit accounts
  • Loan accounts
  • Credit card accounts.

Note: Foreign currency accounts are not eligible for direct bank feeds, but you can still manually import your bank statements.

How to set up bank feeds.

  • Check your eligibility – Make sure your accounts are eligible for direct feeds.
  • Apply for a bank feed – Submit an application form through your accounting software provider.
  •  Processing time – Your feed will usually start within 10 working days.

Things to keep in mind.

For the most part, setting up a connection to a third party only needs to be done once, and the connection will remain in place until it is cancelled or expired.

If there are no new transactions on your credit card since the last statement, no new statement will be sent to your accounting software.

Once your feed is active, check for any missing or duplicate transactions. You can manually import or delete transactions if needed.

If your feed isn’t working as expected, check for known disruptions on your accounting software support page, links below.
