New to Westpac

Ready to sign up for Tertiary or Career Starter account? Because you're new to Westpac, you'll need to come into a branch with some ID and proof of address so we can set up your account.

We suggest you contact your nearest branch and make an appointment first, so you don’t have to wait around when you get there.

While you're in branch, we can also help you to set up any other Westpac products you'd like, from the CashNav app to a savings account or more.

Here's what you'l need to bring in branch:

When you visit us in branch to open your Tertiary or Career Starter account, you'll need a form of identification – such as a NZ Driver Licence – and proof of your address, like a bank statement or cell phone bill.

You can also print and fill out the Tertiary account PDF form, or the Career Starter account PDF form to bring with you, but this is optional.
