We no longer offer the Access Account as a new account option.  But if you already have an Access Account, don't worry - you can continue using your account as per usual.

Like another option? Westpac Everyday account could be a good choice.

Fees at a glance

With your Access Account, you can choose how you want to pay. Either a simple 'Flat' monthly fee, or 'Pay as you go' for each transaction you make.

The 'Flat' fee is good for you if:
  • you already have other savings, investments or loans with Westpac (your monthly account maintenance fee could be free, or reduced to just $5 per month)
  • you prefer to know exactly how much you will pay in fees each month
  • you don't want to worry about how many transactions you make each month
'Pay as you go' is good for you if:
  • you make less than 25 transactions per month
  • you don't have any other savings, investments or a home loan with us

  • If you choose the 'Pay as you go' option, remember it'll always be slightly cheaper to do online transactions versus banking at the branch.
  • If you use EFTPOS a lot, try to do as much as you can at the same time – like getting cash out when paying for your purchase. That way, you'll only get charged for one transaction.

Flat monthly fee option

With this option, you pay a flat monthly fee that covers all transactions – no matter how many you make. The standard flat fee is $9.95 a month.

And it gets even better if you have other savings, accounts or loans with Westpac. To say thanks for choosing us, we'll reduce your flat fee or waive it altogether, depending on your ‘total personal banking1 with us.

If you have $100,000+ worth of 'total personal banking' with us, we'll waive the monthly fee.

You'll get a reduced flat fee of $5 a month, if you have between $25,000 and $99,999 of total personal banking with us.

1. Your 'total personal banking' is when you add up:

- the amount of your Westpac Choices home loan, or personal loan (but it doesn't include overdraft limits or credit cards), plus

- any credit (positive) balances on your Westpac savings and transactions accounts, plus

- the amount of any Westpac term deposits or investments you have

The 'total' is calculated each month on the same day as your Westpac Access summary.

For example, if you had a $500,000 home loan, plus $10,000 in a term deposit, you'd have $510,000 and so we'll waive the monthly fee.

'Pay-as-you-go' option

With this option there's no monthly account fee and you pay separately for each transaction you make.
