Social and affordable housing

In 2015, we supported many New Zealanders by providing $24.5 million in funding to community housing providers. A significant aspect of this has been funding the housing expansion for Accessible Properties New Zealand Limited; a subsidiary of the IHC, that specialises in providing and managing affordable community housing for people with disabilities, the socially disadvantaged and low income earners.

We have relationships with several community housing organisations which are looking to expand. We have been actively talking to these organisations to help them develop the commercial structures and disciplines required to manage these assets in a long-term sustainable way.

We’ve also teamed up with Housing New Zealand to offer Welcome Home Loans, which are low deposit home loans designed to help Kiwis get into their first home and on the property ladder.
