Worldwomen17 to inspire Kiwi women to create change

Westpac is proud to be supporting worldwomen17, an event that brings amazing women from around the world to Auckland to inspire Kiwi women to create meaningful change in the world.

The event, held at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland from 17-19 March, 2017, is organised by worldwomen, an organisation founded by former Telecom CEO Theresa Gattung and medical intuitive healer Barbara Gabler.

As their website says, “We want to be a catalyst for women being inspired to manifest amazing outcomes and to create meaningful change in the world.”

“worldwomen is about women coming together, agreeing challenges and taking action. We are facilitating this by hosting an international conference, worldwomen17, providing a space in time for women to be inspired by powerful local and international women who are already manifesting change in education, in health and in business.”

Dr. Tererai Trent is one of today’s most internationally recognized voices for quality education and women’s empowerment.

Distinguished as Oprah Winfrey’s “All-Time Favorite Guest,” Dr. Trent is a scholar, humanitarian, motivational speaker, educator, author, and the founder of Tererai Trent International.


Vicki SaundersVicki Saunders

Vicki Saunders is an entrepreneur, award-winning mentor, advisor to the next generation of change makers and leading advocate for entrepreneurship as a way of creating positive transformation in the world.

Vicki is Founder of SheEO; a two-decade long initiative to dramatically transform how we support, celebrate and finance female entrepreneurs building new models, new mindsets and new solutions for a better world.


Dr Neha SangwanDr Neha Sangwan

Neha Sangwan, M.D., the CEO and founder of Intuitive Intelligence, is an internal medicine physician, international speaker and corporate communication expert.

She addresses the root cause of stress, miscommunication, and interpersonal conflict, often healing chronic conditions such as headaches, insomnia, anxiety, and depression.

Denise ArnoldDenise Arnold

A lawyer by day, Denise is passionate about education and seeing that as a way to break the poverty cycle established the Cambodia Charitable Trust in 2008.

Education helps prevent children in rural Cambodia from being trafficked and gives children a chance at a better life.


Leonie PihamaLeonie Pihama

Leonie is Director of Te Kotahi Research Institute at the University of Waikato, and Director of Māori and Indigenous Analysis Ltd, a Kaupapa Māori research company.

She has worked as an Associate Professor in Education at the University of Auckland and was Director of the Interational Research Institute for Maori and Indigenous Education (IRI).


Theresa GattungTheresa Gattung

From 1999 to 2007 Theresa was CEO and Managing Director of Telecom New Zealand, a $5 billion telecommunications business in New Zealand and Australia.

Over the last few years Theresa has been involved in a wide spread of governance positions including Chair of AIA Australia and entrepreneurial start-ups including being co-founder, alongside Cecilia Robinson and Nadia Lim, of My Food Bag. 


Lindy NelsonLindy Nelson

Lind is the founder of Agri-Women's Development Trust. A visionary leader, Lindy has followed a governance pathway spanning farm ownership, directorship of a crown entity and founding an organisation that is successfully developing women’s leadership, business and governance capability in the agricultural sector.
