Women of Influence Forum inspires aspiring leaders

The morning before the big Women of Influence Awards gala, Westpac NZ and Fairfax Media are hosted a special half day forum to provide insights and inspiration for aspiring leaders on resilience and influence.

With 160 in attendance, the day was hosted by Ali Mau and featured a number of inspirational speakers sharing their experiences and views on resilience.

The first speaker of the day Dr Sven Hansen, Founder of the Resilience Institute, talked about the importance of looking after yourself.

The first panel discussion was with Kirsten Patterson (NZ Country Head, Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ), Natalie Feehan (GM Marketing, MYOB), and Tracey Cross (Partner, DLA Piper).

Hon Paula Bennett spoke of her experiences, and how she went from cleaning houses to being the highest ranking female National party MP.

The second panel discussion was with Sue Foley (Director Corporate Affairs, Westpac NZ), Michelle Pilot (Head of Marketing, MasterCard), and Sarah Leberman (Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Business School, Massey University).

The final speaker for the day was Raelene Castle (Chief Executive, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs), who spoke of building a culture of resilience and the club, and the benefits of surrounding yourself with excellence.
