It was a windy day on the Waitemata Harbour when Westpac employees Jim Reardon and Shane Howell donned life jackets and left the dock for the Westpac Winch Challenge.
In a bid to raise money for the 2016 Westpac Chopper Appeal, the pair accepted to go head-to-head to see who could raise the most money for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust.
Then after being dropped in the harbour, the one with the highest donation total would be “rescued” by the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter team using the chopper winch.
The lads had three weeks to wheel and deal with friends, family, colleagues and contacts to make sure they wouldn’t be left in the drink.
With an amazing total of $34, 945.80 find out who raised the most and was winched to safety on the day.
