Nominations for the Young Leader Awards are now open and we are looking for promising Young Leaders from every primary and intermediate school all over New Zealand.
Students are nominated by their teachers and peers with one student in each primary and intermediate school awarded.
Sir Peter Blake is widely recognised as one of New Zealand’s greatest leaders. This recognition of leadership is not only because of what he achieved as a yachtsman and environmentalist, but more importantly, from the way he went about doing things.
Sir Peter believed in the incredible potential of young kiwis to achieve great things and the Young Leader Award celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding leadership through qualities and characteristics such as:
- Determination and the will to succeed
- Good team builder, leader and member
- Hard working and know how to have fun
Schools are invited to nominate an outstanding leader for this fantastic award (one student in Year 5-8 from each school can be nominated) to receive this award.
Westpac employees then attend school assemblies to present the awards during Leadership Week (3 – 7 July 2017).

Nominations close 19 May 2017.
