The start of a brand new year also brings with it a clean slate and exciting adventure for Millie Basher.

Millie Basher v1The programme, which kicks off on February 2, works alongside talented graduates from universities across the country to offer practical business experiences in a variety of areas within a large corporate organisation.

These areas include Westpac's Agribusiness, Business Bank & Wealth, Corporate and Institutional Banking, Financial Markets, Products, Technology, and Risk units.

Graduates rotate through areas which best suit their skillsets, education and interests.

Originally from Eketahuna, Millie recently graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canterbury and says she’s looking forward to making the big move to Auckland and working in the central city.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in and really seize every opportunity throughout the programme. The way it’s structured was a significant factor for me, as the rotations mean I can have the opportunity to be exposed to a number of areas throughout the bank and gain a diverse knowledge base.”

Millie will be part of the Business Bank & Wealth specialist graduate programme with two others.

The Westpac Graduate Programme typically runs for 12 - 24 months and could lead towards a permanent position.
