One of New Zealand’s biggest summer events, the Downer NRL Auckland Nines is back on Waitangi Weekend, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February, 2016.

And for one lucky youngster, this is going to mean the opportunity to not only attend but get right in the thick of it.

Westpac has launched the NRL Nines Ball Boy/Girl Competition offering one 8-14 year old the opportunity to help you win an amazing prize package, including 4x gold passes for the weekend and the official duty of running the ball out at one of the quarter finals.

NRL Nines Ball Boy/Girl Competition

To enter and be eligible to win you must be the parent or guardian of a boy or girl aged 8-14 years old on 7 February, 2016.

Wendell SailorThen it’s encouraging their creativity to produce a visual piece of art of their favourite NRL player. This could include a drawing, sketch, painting or even a clay mould. Their imagination is the limit.

The 10 best entries will then be judged by former NRL superstar Wendell Sailor, and his favourite will be crowned champion.You then need to email a scanned copy or photo of your child’s piece of artwork to Westpac_social_media@westpac.co.nz before 11.59pm on 7 January. Please include your name as well as your child’s name and age in the entry email.

Judging will consider the creativity, age of the entrant, and the overall skill and workmanship involved in producing the piece of art.

 

The prize package includes:

  • 4x gold passes to the Downer NRL Auckland Nines Weekend (Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February, 2016) 
  • One night accommodation at the Mercure Hotel (Auckland CBD) for four people including breakfast and car parking
  • Official duty of Ball Boy/Girl at a quarter final game for your child
  • One signed NRL jersey for your child
  • Stand in the tunnel with the players before the game starts
  • Meet a player (specific player will depend on player availability, either a former NRL legend or current player)

Please note: Travel to Auckland not included

With 16 NRL teams, 288 star players, 31 action-packed games, and over 90,000 fans descending on Eden Park over Waitangi Weekend, the Nines promises to be an experience not to be missed.
