| The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim yourself. |
|
| The minimum excess is |
|
$250 for each claim if you own the house you live in, or you live in a rented property by yourself or with family members |
|
|
$300 for each claim if you live with flatmates or the house is your holiday home |
|
|
$550 for each claim if the house is a rental property. |
|
|
| If you’re 55 or over you can pay more for your insurance and have no excess at all. You need to be living in your own home or in a rented property by yourself or with family members. |
