What credit card insurance can cover in the event of
Death
We can pay your outstanding credit card account balance as at the date of death.  
Maximum coverage $50,000.  
Benefit expires at age 80.  
Accident or illness causing total disability
Where total disability continues beyond 30 consecutive days, we can pay 10% of your outstanding credit card balance as at the date you stopped work or sought medical advice, whichever is earlier.
This can be paid
each month until you recover, for up to a maximum of 24 months  
maximum coverage $50,000.  
If your disability becomes permanent, we may pay the remainder of the 24-month total benefit as a lump sum.
Benefit expires at age 66.  
Redundancy
Where unemployment resulting from involuntary redundancy continues beyond 30 consecutive days, we can pay 10% of your outstanding credit card balance as at the date you were first notified you would be made redundant.
This can be paid
each month for up to 6 months, or until you return to work – whichever is sooner  
maximum coverage $50,000.  
Benefit expires at age 66.  
Bankruptcy
Upon declaration of your bankruptcy, we can pay your outstanding credit card account balance as at the date you were first notified your creditors had applied to the court to start bankruptcy proceedings.
Maximum coverage $10,000.  
Benefit expires at age 66.  
Note: Any payment is subject to your claim being accepted. Certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. Full details of cover are contained in the policy document that is available at any Westpac branch.
Cost of Westpac Card Repayment Cover
You only pay 79 cents for every $100 of your outstanding monthly credit card account balance.
There’s no charge if your balance is zero or in credit as at the date of your monthly credit card account statement. Premiums are automatically charged to your card account.
Applying for Westpac Card Repayment Cover
If you’re applying for a Westpac credit card
tick the relevant box on your Westpac credit card application form.  
If you already have a Westpac credit card
call us on 0800 202 255 (8.30am to 8pm, Monday to Friday)  
Guaranteed acceptance
pre-existing conditions aren’t covered so there are no medical questions to answer  
you and any joint cardholders are guaranteed acceptance for the full range of benefits, provided you are aged between 18 and 65  
if you’re aged between 66 and 79, you’re guaranteed acceptance for life cover only.  
30-day free look
You’re entitled to a free look period of 30 days from the date we receive your application.
If you decide the cover is not for you, return your policy documents to Westpac Life and we’ll refund any premiums paid in full.
If you decide to cancel after 30 days, please advise Westpac Life in writing and cover will stop immediately. No further charges will be made.
