Credit card payment options

There are a variety of ways to pay your credit card. You can pay off your balance in full or in part each month, and also make payments through online banking or by visiting us at a branch.

To give you flexibility, you can choose to pay your credit card off in full each month or just make the minimum monthly payment.* The minimum payment is the greater of $5 or 2% of your closing balance.

*MasterCard BusinessCard must be paid off in full each month by direct debit.

Ways to pay

24 hour Internet Banking and Telephone Banking

Transfer payments directly to your credit card account from your other Westpac accounts using 24 hour Online or Phone Banking (to register for these services, call us on 0800 400 600).

Automatic payments

You can arrange an automatic payment from your Westpac bank account to pay a specified amount to your credit card at regular intervals, for example, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Do this through Online Banking or call us.

Direct debit

You can arrange a direct debit from your Westpac bank account to pay the minimum monthly payment, a fixed amount each month or the full closing balance on your monthly statement.

By ATM

You can do a funds transfer or make a deposit from your other Westpac bank accounts to your credit card account at any Westpac ATM.

Pay in person

Make a payment over the counter at any Westpac branch in New Zealand.

Make a bill payment from another New Zealand bank

You can set this up if you are registered with telephone or internet banking with your other bank, to pay your Westpac credit card account.

Set up a direct debit

Paying by direct debit is an easy way to make payments each month. Simply complete a credit card direct debit application, which you can download here. (PDF 72Kb). 

If you want to vary your direct debit payment, you’ll need to contact us 48 hours prior to your direct debit payment due date.

Alternatively you can visit your local Westpac branch.

With the MasterCard Business Card facility, you have to make payments by direct debit. Each month, the outstanding balances on all cards under the facility are combined and direct debited in one lump sum from the Account Holder's nominated funding account.
