Cash Critter app Terms and Conditions

The Westpac Cash Critter App ("Cash Critter") has been developed by Westpac New Zealand Limited ("Westpac") to help educate kids about savings, rewards and goals. By downloading and using Cash Critter you agree that you, and any kids or anyone else that uses Cash Critter on your device, will comply with the Cash Critter Terms and Conditions, as well as Westpac's General Terms and Conditions (including Westpac Electronic Banking Service Terms and Conditions) and the Westpac Website Terms of Use .

  1. Payments

    Cash Critter offers you the option of paying kids in cash or to a nominated bank account. Although most of the benefits and features of Cash Critter can be enjoyed by everyone that downloads Cash Critter, you can only make payments to an account through Cash Critter if you hold a Westpac transactional account and are registered to use Westpac Mobile Online Banking (as defined in the General Terms and Conditions). 

    To make a payment to an account, you must log into Westpac Mobile Online Banking (a limited version of which is accessible through the 'Grown-up' section of Cash Critter) and enter your usual Westpac Online Banking security details. Payments can then be made to any New Zealand bank account. The maximum payment amount permitted through Cash Critter is NZ$500.00 per transaction.

  2. Your security

    Use of the pay-to-account functionality within Cash Critter constitutes use of an Electronic Banking Service (as defined in the General Terms and Conditions) and is subject to the Westpac Electronic Banking Service Terms. The Westpac Electronic Banking Service Terms can be obtained at any branch or downloaded as a pdf from westpac.co.nz. 

    In accordance with the Westpac Electronic Banking Service Terms, you must ensure that at all times you protect your Westpac Online Banking login and security details and do not disclose them to anyone.

    We recommend you always adhere to manufacturer’s software and support recommendations to ensure your electronic devices are covered by the latest software and security updates available from the manufacturer. If you use Cash Critter via a Wi-Fi network, you must use a trusted network.

  3. Charges

    Westpac will not charge you for downloading Cash Critter. If you make any payments through Cash Critter, your standard account service and transaction fees and charges will apply. Internet data charges and charges for any calls you make to Westpac may be incurred through your Internet service provider and/or mobile service provider – check with your Internet service provider and/or your mobile service provider for more details. An Internet connection is required to download Westpac mobile apps from the App Store. Please check with your mobile phone service or Internet provider for details.

  4. General

    Westpac reserves the right to modify or withdraw Cash Critter at any time. Access is subject to availability and maintenance. To the extent permitted by law, Westpac will not be responsible to you for any direct or indirect costs, losses or other liabilities resulting from your use of Cash Critter otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions (including unauthorised use of Cash Critter , any failure or delay in providing Cash Critter via an electronic device, any loss of access to Cash Critter or any malfunction of any equipment or system which supports Cash Critter, regardless of whether the equipment or system is ours or used by us to provide Cash Critter).

    You indemnify and will keep indemnified Westpac against all actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including all legal costs and expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) suffered or incurred by Westpac arising out of or in connection with your use of Cash Critter or a breach by you of these terms and conditions.
